gentle beginnings
A slow-paced parent group for early bonding and support
Parents and their infant(s) – ages birth to ~5 months
8-week session – $175
These groups are part parent support group, part introduction to social time and play for your baby, and part guidance on parenting and infant development. You will have the opportunity to connect with other parents (maybe even make some real friends!), build a community of like-minded parents, and witness all the incredible learning your baby does naturally.
I will use our time to introduce concepts of the RIE/Respectful Parenting approach and to facilitate discussions around common areas of concern, including: developmental milestones, sleep, feeding, infant play, attachment, self-care, and much more.
The Gentle Beginnings group is for pre-mobile babies who spend most of their time on their backs. They might be starting to roll onto their side or their belly, “sundialing”, or inchworming on their back. If your baby is rolling consistently, one of my older play groups is probably a better fit for you.
You will likely find these groups to be slow-moving, calming, almost meditative. This is intentional. As Magda Gerber said, “Do less. Observe more. Enjoy most.”
What families are saying:
“Our little family adores Sarah and her play groups. We are learning so much, feel incredibly supported, and have enjoyed connecting with other parents and their babes. Each gathering is insightful, and Sarah is so wise and helpful. Thank you, Sarah!” – Desiree
“Sarah’s (Raised with Respect) group has been such a positive experience for my daughter and I. New parenthood can be intimidating and isolating at times. Sarah has shown us so much support, shares her knowledge, and provides resources that are always positive and impactful. She also follows up about topics discussed and is genuinely passionate about what she does! I cannot recommend her enough!” – Maribeth
“I’m incredibly thankful for discovering Raised with Respect and Sarah. I initially came across this playgroup on Instagram but was hesitant to sign up. Looking back, I wish I had joined earlier when I had first learned about the program. Sarah is an exceptional leader who exudes kindness, gentleness, and a remarkable responsiveness to both the toddlers and parents in the group. I truly value her insightful guidance and appreciate the valuable perspectives shared by other parents when it comes to dealing with challenging toddler behaviors. Implementing strategies rooted in the RIE philosophy has made a positive impact on our home life. It’s one thing to read about these techniques in a book, but witnessing them being applied in real-time with your child is completely different. “- Lydia
